One day I entered the Google.com top 100 for the [seo blog].

It was a surprise! Why?

Back then I did not optimize for that query and barely used the word “blog” at all.

So I checked out the other blogs out there!

What did I find? Some really funny and inventive names.

Why calling your SEO blog “SEO Blog” sucks

At first I found numerous blogs that bored me to death!

How? By calling themselves “SEO Blog” in their names.

I would never do that haha!

OK, I did by now as you read this LOL.

After almost two decades I’m already somewhat known.

As a beginner, do you really think you can stand out in such a “niche” by calling your blog “SEO Blog”? I doubt that.

At least add a number and call it seo2.blog! Just kidding. Use something more original!

The funniest and most memorable SEO blog names

I collected the funniest and most memorable SEO blog names to show that you can have a memorable name in a boring industry.

Humor is of course the best way to memorize something.

Why that? The brain catches what sounds weird.

Average sounding names get forgotten quickly.

They just sound too similar to well known ones we’re used to.

Anyway, this is proof that a little more imagination works wonders.

I assumed that the HTML title or the URL is the blog name not the keyword stuffed parts of the sites.

So here they are. I pruned the list quite a bit to just keep the ones that still exist.

SEO Dead

It is rather a brand or company but by 2026 also has a blog.

It has only two posts but I already memorized it and added it to the list!

The author often shares super funny “fake news” on his LinkedIn as well.

Hobo Web

Who would hire a hobo to do their SEO?

Yet apparently my good old online buddy Shaun Anderson of Hobo Web is one of the most long standing SEO experts.

His SEO blog even won some awards it seems. Well deserved I’d say.

Blind Five Year Old

Another online friend of mine is AJ Kohn.

I used to engage with him a lot and also link out to his blog.

He’s too busy with client work so he neglects his blog by now.

Yet it still contains a lot of evergreen gems.

And no, he’s not five or blind!

WTFSEO

WTF SEO was one of my favorite humorous SEO blogs.

Of course it contained a lot of truth nonetheless.

By now it’s a bit dusty yet still somewhat funny and relevant.

Beanstalk

Well, I’m sorry for poking fun at real names.

Yet but have you ever pictured beans talking?

Or far worse, a bean stalking you?

SOS SEO.

Most people in Germany where it was one of the original SEO blogs would agree:

SEO? Help! This is an emergency!

Maybe it’s even a sexually transmitted disease?

How to name your SEO blog

Do you still have difficulties finding a good name for a SEO blog?

Try “the best ones not yet existing“.

Or start at the beginning and consider many options for naming your blog.

So invest your time in a real topic – something like “SEO 2.0” for instance haha.

Come up with a memorable brand or blog name so that you stand out.
